I wanted the spreads to be sleek, with pops of color, using photos to tell the story visually.

Using an article and photos that were given to me, I designed the layout for a six page magazine spread. We were provided with ten photos, but I chose to only use the ones I felt best represented the text, which was unable to be edited. My goal was to create a modern, sleek design that was both visually appealing and easy to comprehend. Throughout the process I focused on having a balance of photos and text so that it never felt overwhelming. To keep all the pages cohesive, I used consistent elements such as rounded photos, text wraps, and a wave icon to indicate captions. I also pulled colors directly from the photos for the quotes and wave icons in attempt to tie together the photos and text.
